In an effort to inform and keep up to date with all the academic ongoings in our classroom I will try and keep posting notes of upcoming units in all subject areas in Grade 2. Please feel free to email with any questions you may have, or any support you may need at home to ensure your child continues to move forward in his or her learning. For the time being, here is a list of current outcomes either in review or planned for the near future:
Math:
Finishing up with the ability to:
- Demonstrate if a number (up to 100) is even or odd. (Final assessment will take place on Friday, September 21st.
Beginning the following outcomes (next week):
- Represent and describe numbers to 100, concretely, pictorially and symbolically;
- Compare and order numbers up to 100; and
- Say the number sequence, 0 to 100, by:
- 2s, 5s and 10s, forward and backward, using starting points that are multiples of 2, 5 and 10 respectively;
- 10s using starting points from 1 to 9
- 2s starting from 1
Literacy:

- Students will speak and listen to explore, extend, clarify, and reflect on their thoughts, ideas, feelings, and experiences;
- Students will be able to communicate information and ideas effectively and clearly, and to respond personally and critically;
